We can prescribe medicines on prescription if necessary after your animal has had an initial assessment by our vets.
You may obtain Prescription Only Medicines, Category V (POM-Vs) from your veterinary surgeon OR ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or a pharmacy.
Your veterinary surgeon may prescribe POM-Vs only for animals under their care.
The general policy of Buchan Vets is to re-assess an animal requiring repeat prescriptions every six months, but this may vary with individual circumstances. There is a standard charge for re-examination for a repeat prescription. There is also a standard charge for a written prescription.
