As you are aware, we have been proud to provide our own out-of-hours emergency care which is becoming increasingly difficult to manage by our on-call vets in the current climate. Providing the best possible out of hours emergency service to our small animal patients will always be a top priority. We have been working hard to find a way to further improve our current service and have made a temporary arrangement with an on-line service – VidiVet – to help with our small animal out of hours calls between 6.30pm – 8.30am until further notice.
Please note that the Peterhead and Fraserburgh clinics will continue to open as normal on Saturdays
There is no change to the out of hours service for our equine and farm clients.
What is VidiVet?
Vidivet gives our small animal clients access to digital vet support out of hours: 6.30pm – 8.30am.
If you are concerned about your pet but not sure if you need to see a vet at the practice or you have a concern about the medication your pet is taking, you can send your concerns to a vet via the VidiVet App and get a personalised video response direct to your phone within minutes.
What are the benefits of VidiVet?
We are covering the cost of this service so that it is FREE to all Buchan registered clients. It gives you instant access to a small animal vet out of hours between 6.30pm – 8.30am. It gives you pet advice when you need it and the peace of mind that you are doing the right thing for your pet.
How do I access VidiVet?
We recommend that you follow these simple steps now so that you have your own account ready on VidiVet should you ever need the service out of hours:

Step 3 – Sign in and ask any pet question
But what if my pet falls seriously ill or has had a bad accident?
In the event of an urgent medical problem, please call our usual number 01771 637670 and you will be directed to our on-call vet.
We are confident that VidiVet will be a helpful addition to our small animal out of hours service for small between 6.30pm – 8.30am to ensure there is always veterinary advice available for you whenever you are worried about the health of your pet out of hours.
